Russ Scalzo

In the 1960's and 70's, Russ Scalzo was the front man for The Hallmarks, a band popular along the Jersey Shore. At age 17 he wrote Soul Shakin' Psychedelic Sally and signed a record contract with Mercury Records. The song was debuted on Dick Clark's American Bandstand on October 7, 1967. Nearly 50 years later the Hallmarks lost songs were found and the album Paper Sky was released on August 17, 2018. After a life-changing experience with Jesus Christ, Russ went from performing in bars and clubs to ministering in churches and touring the U.S. and Canada with his band, Saved By Grace. He has written too many songs to count, including music for several original musicals. He is the co-founder and president of a non-profit Christian theater company based in New Jersey, Lighthouse Stage Productions. Russ currently resides on the Jersey Shore with his wife of 40+ years. He has three beautiful daughters and is a grandfather of four.

Experiece victory through faith in your darkest hour.
In this work you will read about my friends’ stories and a little bit about their lives. The struggles, the battles, the tough times and how they’ve come through victoriously and how their lives have been enriched and are all the better for having gone through the fire.
Following their story, and on occasion in the middle of their story, you will read the poetry and stories I’ve written that seem to suit them well.
